Getting Started

Everything you need to know to master your Parsec Saber. From unboxing to advanced techniques, we've got you covered.

01

What's in the Box

Every Parsec Saber arrives ready to ignite. Here's what you'll find inside your package:

Saber Hilt

Aluminium alloy hilt with pre-installed electronics and rechargeable battery

Polycarbonate Blade

92cm heavy-duty duelling blade (3mm wall for Xenopixel, standard for Baselit)

USB-C Charging Cable

Standard charging cable for your saber's built-in battery

Hex Key & Screws

For securing your blade to the hilt

Blade Plug SELECT MODELS

Display plug for when you want to show off just the hilt

First Things First

We recommend fully charging your saber before first use. This ensures optimal battery performance and lets you enjoy extended playtime right from the start.

02

Charging Your Saber

Your Parsec Saber uses a rechargeable 18650 lithium-ion battery (3600mAh for Xenopixel, 2000mAh for Baselit). Here's how to keep it powered up:

1

Locate the Charging Port

The USB-C charging port is located on the hilt. Some models have the port exposed, others require removing the pommel or grip section to access it.

2

Connect the Cable

Use the included USB-C cable with a standard 5V charger. The LED button will show a pulsing/breathing effect to indicate charging.

3

Wait for Full Charge

A full charge takes approximately 2-4 hours. When complete, the LED will turn solid or off, and newer models will announce "Fully Charged".

Battery Type

18650 Li-ion (3.7V)

Charger Required

5V / 1-2A (USB)

Charge Time

2-4 hours

Playtime

1-3 hours

Important Charging Safety
  • Never use fast chargers — They can damage the battery and electronics
  • Don't leave charging overnight — Unplug once fully charged
  • Charge monthly — Even if not in use, charge at least once a month
  • Low battery warning — When announced, charge soon to prevent deep discharge
03

Installing Your Blade

Your blade and hilt are shipped separately to prevent damage during transit. Here's how to safely connect them:

1

Ensure Saber is Off

Make sure your saber is powered off (not just blade off, but fully in sleep mode) before installing or removing the blade.

2

Insert the Blade

Align the blade with the emitter and push it all the way in until it stops. For Xenopixel blades, ensure the contact pins at the base make proper connection.

3

Secure with Screws

Use the provided hex key to tighten the retention screws on the emitter. Tighten until the blade cannot rotate freely, but don't overtighten.

4

Test the Connection

Power on your saber and ignite the blade. If the blade doesn't light (Xenopixel), check that it's fully seated and the contacts are clean.

Baselit Blades

The LED is in the hilt, so the blade is simply a light diffuser. These are more durable for heavy duelling and cheaper to replace.

Xenopixel Blades

Contains an LED strip (288 LEDs) inside the blade for advanced effects. Requires proper contact with the hilt's connector pins.

Blade Compatibility

Xenopixel hilts require Xenopixel (Neopixel) blades — they will not work with standard RGB blades. Baselit hilts work with standard polycarbonate blades only.

Xeno Configurator App

Xenopixel V3 and XRGB V3 sabers can be controlled via the free Xeno Configurator smartphone app. Take full control of your saber from your phone.

1

Download the App

Search for "Xeno Configurator" in your app store (look for the X icon), or use the links above.

2

Enable Bluetooth

Turn on Bluetooth on your phone. Make sure your saber is powered on (in standby mode, not deep sleep).

3

Connect Your Saber

Open the app and it will scan for nearby sabers. Select yours when it appears. You'll hear "App Connected".

4

Explore the Features

Control ignition, change colours, select sound fonts, adjust volume, switch blade effects, and more.

Connection Troubleshooting

If your saber won't connect: turn off Bluetooth, power cycle the saber, turn Bluetooth back on, and try again. Keep your phone close. Some metal hilt cores may block the signal — try removing decorative sleeves if present.

Compatibility: The Xeno Configurator app works with Xenopixel V3 and XRGB V3 soundboards only. Baselit RGB sabers do not have Bluetooth.

Care & Safety

Keep your saber in peak condition with these care tips and safety guidelines.

✓ Do

  • Store in a cool, dry place
  • Charge monthly even when not in use
  • Clean blade with a soft, damp cloth
  • Tighten blade screws before duelling
  • Use both hands for heavy swings
  • Wear eye protection during intense duels

✗ Don't

  • Leave in direct sunlight for long periods
  • Submerge in water
  • Use fast chargers or chargers over 2A
  • Strike hard surfaces (concrete, walls, trees)
  • Stare directly at the LEDs
  • Leave battery fully drained for long periods

Duelling Safety

👁️ Eye Protection

Consider safety glasses for intense duelling sessions

👥 Clear Space

Ensure adequate room and no bystanders in swing range

🤝 Agreed Rules

Establish duelling rules with your opponent beforehand

⚔️ Blade First

Strike blade-to-blade, never aim for body or head

Adult Supervision Required
  • Parsec Sabers are collector's props designed for adults (18+)
  • If children are using them, adult supervision is required at all times

Troubleshooting

Most issues can be resolved quickly. Here are solutions to common problems:

Saber won't turn on
  • Battery depleted: Charge for at least 30 minutes before trying again
  • Deep sleep mode: Hold the button for 1-2 seconds to wake from sleep
  • Battery protection triggered: If completely drained, remove and reinstall the battery
  • Check connections: Open the hilt and ensure the battery is properly seated
Blade doesn't light up (Xenopixel)
  • Blade not seated: Push the blade all the way in until it stops
  • Dirty contacts: Clean the connector pins on both blade and hilt with a dry cloth
  • Wrong blade type: Xenopixel hilts only work with Neopixel blades, not RGB
  • Loose retention screws: Tighten the blade retention screws on the emitter
No sound
  • Muted: Hold the button for 1 second (blade off) to cycle through volume levels
  • Speaker connection: If volume adjustment doesn't work, speaker may be disconnected
  • SD card issue (Xenopixel): The SD card may have become loose — reseat it
App won't connect
  • Saber in deep sleep: Wake the saber first — it must be in standby mode
  • Bluetooth interference: Turn off other nearby Bluetooth devices
  • Distance: Keep phone within 1-2 metres of the saber
  • Metal hilt cores: Some cores can block Bluetooth signal — try removing them
  • Reset: Turn off phone Bluetooth, power cycle the saber, turn Bluetooth back on
Saber not charging
  • Check cable: Try a different USB-C cable
  • Check charger: Use a standard 5V/1-2A charger, not a fast charger
  • Check port: Ensure the charging port is clear of debris
  • Battery protection: If deeply discharged, remove and reinstall the battery
Flickering blade or erratic behaviour
  • Low battery: Charge your saber
  • Loose blade: Check blade is fully inserted and retention screws are tight
  • Dirty contacts: Clean blade and hilt connector pins
  • Reset to factory: Use the app or hold button for 10+ seconds to reset
